Chýnice – Family house

INVESTOR soukromá osoba
PROJECT 03/2011 - 10/2011
REALIZATION 05/2012 - 12/2013
CONTRACTOR IPMB
BUILT-UP AREA 274m²

The plot was created by the division of a larger piece of land into parcels for the construction of family houses. The house is located at the edge of the Český Kras protected landscape area.  The main entrance to the plot for both cars and pedestrians is from a new road. The building is conceived as a single-storey family house with a basement and an emphasis on the connection between the house and the garden. A garage is attached to the compact house with an offset gable roof. The house is considerably lightened by being cantilevered over the garden. Views of the garden and landscape through the glazed facade are an important accent. The cantilevered facade over the garden is clad in grey weathered titanium zinc with a rabbet in combination with cedar; the roof is also covered with weathered titanium zinc sheet metal. The flat garage roof is covered with sheeting and vegetation.
