Kunratice – Family house III

INVESTOR private
REALIZATION 03/2010 - 2011
CONTRACTOR IPMB
The family house is situated in the built-up part of Kunratice. A house that previously stood on the plot was demolished. The slope of the terrain made it possible to sink part of the two-storey house into the ground. The decision to cross the individual masses of the two floors was based on the requirement to make maximum use of the garden space. This made it possible to lighten the upper floor and cantilever it over the terrace on the ground floor. The main entrance to the house is on the ground floor, where the utility room and main living space are also found. The foyer functions as a junction between the house and the two-car garage. Running from the foyer, with a large closet, is a hallway with a staircase, WC, bathroom, utility room, and the main living space with an office, kitchen, dining room and pantry. This level is connected to the garden by a wooden terrace, which is also the deck of the swimming pool. The private zone of the house is located on the upper floor – the master bedroom with a closet, two children’s rooms with a shared bathroom, an office and utility room. The master bedroom and the children’s bedrooms are connected to a spacious outdoor terrace. One the children’s rooms has skylights with a view of the garden. The house is designed in proportions that reflect the surrounding development. The materials used on the exterior and inside the house are austere and mostly involve concrete in various forms – exposed ceilings, concrete floors and walls, and exterior concrete facade panels. Wood is used as the flooring material on the upper level. Photo: Jaroslav Hejzlar
