Lake House

REALIZATION 8/2006 -6/2008
CONTRACTOR INV Ústí nad Labem
The house was built on a very complicated steep plot covered with self-seeded vegetation; an illegal dump from recent years covered part of the plot. The two-storey house with a cellar has an open modern design utilising contemporary materials; the upper floor is set back. The mass of the actual house has pleasant proportions – a segmented rectangular prism that doesn’t overshadow the surrounding homes with its size and ostentation. The black steel frame with marlstone cladding and aluminium framed openings is accompanied by a lower rectangular prism made of monolithic concrete and clad with matte glass. The outdoor wooden terrace provides a pleasant contrast. The floors of the house are structured into relaxation, social and private zones. Photo: Iveta Kopicová
